Job description

We are looking for a skilled and solution-oriented Maintenance Technician for our brand new chemical process facility at Grini. You will be a key player in ensuring operational reliability and maintaining the plant’s technical process systems. The role demands strong technical understanding, precision, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Safety is always a top priority.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment in a safe and secure manner

  • Troubleshoot and repair pipes, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, motors, and process instrumentation

  • Participate in installation and commissioning of new equipment and processes

  • Document work performed in the maintenance system (CMMS)

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance processes and equipment lifespan, avoiding downtime on instruments and equipment

  • Coordinate collaboration with external maintenance contractors

  • Work closely with production teams

  • Help develop and improve the maintenance workshop

  • Follow current safety procedures and contribute to a strong safety culture and safe working environment

  • The work will involve physical, hands-on work

Job requirements

Qualifications

  • Vocational certificate in industrial mechanics, pipefitting, automation, electrical, or similar. Extensive relevant experience may compensate for lack of certification

  • Experience in a process industry, preferably chemical or petrochemical, is a strong advantage

  • Knowledge of ATEX, pressure testing, and working in explosive environments is a plus

  • Experience with maintenance systems

  • Ability to understand technical drawings and P&ID diagrams

  • Good Norwegian and English skills, both spoken and written
