Job description

As our new Material Handler, you will become a member of a startup team of a top-modern chemical production facility with unique and exciting technology and a high degree of complexity. You will play a crucial role in organizing and ensuring the efficient flow of materials throughout our production facility. You will oversee all aspects of the warehouse and logistics functions and activities, manage spare parts and inventory effectively to optimize inventory stock and material availability, using IT tools, setting proper tactics and reviewing the current Safety Stock Levels. All our employees must have full focus on teamwork, HSE and quality. The position reports to the Plant's Operations Lead. 

Main responsibilities:

  • Managing daily warehouse execution work in compliance with site safety procedures, work instructions and other local regulations and guidelines;

  • Execute cycle counts and adjust inventories accordingly;

  • Register (in Microsoft D365) incoming raw materials and outgoing products and materials, as well as product receipt for open PO orders

  • Track goods as they enter and leave the warehouse and to maintain accurate stock levels.

  • Ensure availability of technical parts, materials and consumables to support maintenance and operations execution;

  • Partner with the Procurement team to identify the source of the material needed and new vendors.

  • Run safety stock replenishment and evaluate priorities and opportunities to keep critical parts at a minimum level on-site;

  • Interface with maintenance and operations to identify material criticality and availability/lead time requirements. Expedite material deliveries, act on Purchase Orders delays and faulty deliveries;

  • Order spare parts and consumables

  • Ensure proper receipt and inspection of parts and materials & maintain material certificates and documentation on-site. Update master data.

  • Own the technical material management process and drive continuous improvement in the warehouse.

  • Handle incoming and outgoing material tasks, participate in monitoring of tanker truck fillings and do sampling of incoming materials.

Job requirements

Candidate Profile:

  • Higher education in Logistics is an advantage, but relevant experience can compensate.

  • 3 to 5 years experience in a similar role , with hands-on experience to warehousing and logistics operations as well as inventory management

  • Ability to work in closely with maintenance lead and technical team

  • Experience in handling hazardous materials

  • Experience from chemical production facilities is an advantage.

  • Experience with ERP systems. Working knowledge of Microsoft D365 is a strong advantage.

  • Forklift license class: T1, T2 and T4

  • Good communication skills in English & Norwegian (or other Scandinavian language).
